Casey Lynn Hancock

Casey is a Los Angeles-based artist, renowned for her large, custom portrait paintings. From a young age, she was captivated by art, always knowing she wanted a career that allowed her to express her creativity. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, she spent countless hours with a sketchbook in hand, although she once avoided drawing people because she felt her attempts weren’t lifelike enough. Casey said “It’s ironic that I spend so much of my time painting portraits now because I was absolutely terrible at drawing people when I was growing up.”

At 18, Casey left Chicago and joined the United States Air Force, which took her to Germany and Arkansas. After fulfilling her military commitment, she shifted gears and became a full-time student while also working as a graphic designer. By the time she earned her bachelor’s degree in business marketing, she had risen to the position of Creative Director and, soon after, Marketing Director. Despite her demanding career, she never lost her passion for painting and photography.

“Working in a corporate setting was such an amazing learning experience for me. I was traveling a lot and managing a team of incredibly talented designers and marketing professionals. But over time, I felt disconnected from the creative side of my work. That’s when I knew I had to leave and take a chance on my art.” -Casey

In February 2017, Casey made the bold decision to leave her corporate career behind and move to San Diego to focus on her art full-time. A few years later, she relocated her studio to Los Angeles, where she’s now focused on expanding her creative journey.

“This has been the scariest thing I have ever done, but also the most amazing experience of my life. There is no doubt in my mind that this is what I was meant to do. I am so grateful to wake up every morning happy and doing what I love!” -Casey
